[The main section of the palace, with its great halls, imposing tower, and the broad plaza where she would have been crowned, are nowhere to be seen. They would have made for a more impressive sight, although the gate here does arch high above them, and the gardens they step into are expansive. Expansive and empty, at least of people. Sharper ears than hers might pick up a faint quack.
