[ She stood there, frozen, eyes wide and breathing heavy.

Takane didn't know what had happened. One moment, she was turning around to make her way out of the school. The next ... she was here.

In a place she didn't recognize.

In a place that was ...

She didn't even know how to describe it.

Takane slowly turned around, eyes scanning the area she now found herself in. Did she fall asleep again? Was she dreaming?

No, she had to wake up. Haruka was at the hospital. She needed to go see him! She had to find him and tell him-- ]

AUGH! Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, WAKE UUUUUUP!

[ ... But clearly, that wasn't working. Takane frowned. Okay. She started walking, looking around. Maybe if she walked around long enough, she'd wake up.

Or figure out what was going on.

No way this wasn't a dream or something, though. She'd have to wake up sometime.

Takane walked for a while, keeping an eye out for anything that might clue her in as to what was going on. She didn't find one.

But she did find something else.

The moment she saw him, her eyes widened again and she could have sworn her heart stopped. She rushed over to the limp, unmoving form of her love friend, placing a hand on his arm and shaking him a little.

He couldn't be here. Not really. This was just a dream, right? Haruka was in the hospital.

Still, her emotions at seeing him like this were very real. ]

H-Hey ... Hey, Haruka ... Haruka, wake up ...

[ Tears welled up in her eyes again, and she roughly took him into her arms, shaking him a little more. ]

Haruka ... Haruka! Hey! Wake up, Haruka!

[ Those tears rolled down her cheeks. No, nonono. He wasn't waking up. This was a dream, and she still couldn't do anything. She was totally useless. ]

HELP!

[ She screamed out the word, looking around to see if maybe anyone was around to hear it. ]

[Haruka let out a sigh of relief at hearing her voice, sitting up so he can see her and she can know he's there.]

[Heading over to Takane's bed, greeting the girl with a calm smile before reaching out to check her vitals.]

Hello, Takane-san. Haruka-san is right here in the bed next to you.

[ If she weren't feeling like she'd just been hit by a truck, she'd probably be retorting back to Colin not to call her 'Snow White.' Right now she's all kinds of confused. She's gotten that she's in a hospital. And Haruka's here. But how ...

... And then everything came back to her. How she and Haruka had ended up in this weird looking place, how she screamed for help, how these people came to help them, and then ... suddenly, she couldn't breathe. She couldn't talk. She was unconscious pretty soon afterward.

What had happened to her? It was all weird, and it happened so fast ... ]

[ Her speech is a little slurred, and her voice raspy and quiet. ]

We were just about to close Haruka's incisions when you woke up.

[He gives her a warm grin, not wanting to worry her just yet about the poison... but oh, he'll be talking to her a little later, you better believe it.]

[ Now that her head was clearing up a little, she realized again that she had no idea where they were. Well, except in a hospital. That much was a given. She didn't think to specify, though. ]

[ THAT is what gets Takane sitting up in bed suddenly. Though once she sits up like that, she's hit with a wave of dizziness that nearly has her laying back down. She brings a hand up to rest against her forehead, and closes her eyes. ]

Blew up?! It exploded?!

[Colin sighs at that, and he reaches up to give Ryu a thwap to the back of the head.]

We weren't telling them that because they aren't well. They don't need stress on top of it.

[He nods then.]

Some maniacs in this world made a weapon that split the multiverse like an overripe watermelon. There was a lot of damage, and this world is pulling in survivors.

It can be a lot to take in for some people. [It sure was for Yukio.] The stress of it could have very negative effects for people with certain medical conditions.

[ Takane's not going to be responsive. Her eyes are wide, and she's staring down at her lap, trembling a little.

No. No, that's not right. That can't be right. Their world wasn't completely gone, this ... this was just some weird, whacked-out nightmare that felt incredibly lifelike. She'd wake up from this eventually, and everything would be back to normal. She'd go to school, and she'd see Haruka, and the two of them would do their usual thing and see their friends and everything would be normal and her Grandma would be around to welcome her home when she got there and everything would be normal.

The world didn't blow up. This was just a nightmare.

Wasn't real.

At all.

It couldn't be. ]
