[ Between all of the happy occasions with safe returns, loot, and core decisions, another happy occasion was happening: All of the Pokemon Eggs that were received during the Festival some time ago are ready to hatch! This brings some new additions to the Bastion, and some new "parents" who have the work of taking care of new baby Pokemon cut out for them.

You should totally come by and see the new babies. Totally. Do it. ]

( ooc: So AZ, N, and Hilda all have new Pokemon babies! All three of us are going to be making subcomments for how that particular character is dealing with their new baby Pokemon. Feel free to comment to any of these subcomments when we all get them up! )

[ Today was a happy day. Today, Hilda and her team welcomed a new life into the end of the world. That new life was a female baby Zorua, who had been happy to see her new Mama and chew on her fingers a little bit.

And then, of course. She did what every energetic, curious little quadruped did.

She started out slowly, trying to stick her nose into anything and everything ... and the she tried to wander a bit too far from her Mama, which caused Mama to panic and try to pick the little one up. But no, it was not to be! Zorua seemed to realize that Mama didn't want her going too far, but she wanted to explore!

So, she started running, rather fast, leaving her poor Mama to start chasing after her. Residents of the Bastion, there is now a curious baby Zorua running around the monument, her trainer rushing after her frantically.

Will you see the Zorua? Will you try to help the Zorua? Will you try to help Mama stop the Zorua? ]

[AZ is sitting near the Distillery, watching the tiny baby Eevee run around in the grass. He's still not entirely sure how to deal with a baby Pokemon - it's been so long since he even had to think about something like that. But she seems happy enough.]

[She definitely seems content to pounce at things in the grass, chasing after dirt clods and chewing on some of the longer pieces of grass. Floette hovers nervously nearby. She's not really sure what to do about this, either.]

[Help? Offer advice? Get your shoelaces pounced on?]

[Well today should have been a happy day. There was still a chance that it would be! But while the other two eggs had hatched just fine, it seemed that N's Darumaka egg was having some trouble. While it was plenty warm and even vibrating a bit to the touch, the Pokemon within the large round egg had yet to come out.

Worriedly, N sat silently in the Dragonfield near the water, with Zoroark next to him occasionally nosing the egg with a worried whine. Both hands on the egg, egg sitting in the space between his crossed legs, he just watched.

And waited.

And quietly, silently prayed.

If something was wrong with this egg... if something was wrong with Darumaka... he wasn't sure how he was going to deal with it.

Or if he even could.]

[ She's finally caught Zorua! And now she held the tiny little worn out baby in her arms as she's wandering around the Bastion trying to find out where here boyfriend's gotten off to and let him know that she and Zorua are both okay. Zorua's still awake despite wearing herself out, and seems to be absentmindedly chewing a little on her mama's fingers. Hilda's fine with this. It doesn't hurt, really. It seems to just be an early-developed habit with the little one.

Of course, she sees AZ with Floette and Eevee on her wanderings and she has to go over and say hello. ]

I see you have a new addition to your little family, too!

[ She's smiling, though it's obvious that dealing with Zorua has worn her out too. ]

[ After stopping and talking with AZ for a bit, she started looking for N again. Zorua had finally fallen asleep in her arms, and Hilda did what she could not to wake her up as she continued to move. She finally caught sight of N, and made her way over to him, slowly sitting down next to him and looking to the egg as she started to pet her sleeping Zorua again. ]

Darumaka's taking its' time, I see ...

[ She leaned a little against N's side. Zorua wore her out quite a bit. ]

[AZ nods, and pats a patch of grass.]

You should rest for a bit.

[Eevee perks up, and stalks low in the grass before jumping up at Hilda. Pouncing, pouncing! Floette lets out a squeak, and then just seems to wilt slightly. ... She's not going to be able to get her to listen, is she?]

[He was worried, but he doesn't say anything about that when she sits next to him. The rare smile he had been using more doesn't appear, though he seems quietly amused at least.]

Zoura has a lot of energy.

[ She nods and begins to sit down ... only to get pounced upon by a baby Eevee before she can. She laughs and makes sure Eevee isn't in the way before sitting down completely. Zorua stops chewing on Mama's fingers and looks over curiously at the other Pokemon, raising a paw as if to bat playfully in Floette's direction. Hilda reclaims her fingers from the little one and wipes them off before making sure she has a secure hold on Zorua and reaching out to let Eevee investigate her. ]

Thanks. Zorua ran around and really gave me a workout earlier ...

I'm not surprised about that. I have a feeling she's going to be a handful ...

[ She leans down a little to kiss the top of Zorua's head. Zorua stretches a little in her sleep. Hilda then turns her attention back to Darumaka's egg and reaches out to place her own hand on it as well. ]

Darumaka's going to be fine. I know it.

[ She looks up at N. He didn't have to say anything. She could tell he was worried. ]

Zoura just needs a lot of exercise!

[Sorry, Zoroark. N is a little preoccupied at the moment. He won't be translating for you until this is over probably.]

Mn... I hope so... I know failed hatching is rare, but...

[He still worries]

[There's another energetic quadruped nearby, watching the little one. ... Oh, why not. A red fox jumps out and joins the chase, running after Zorua with her tail held high. She keeps far enough away so that she doesn't catch her, but close enough to be exciting.]

I know. Sometimes it just takes a little more time to be ready for the outside world, I guess ...

I'll help warm Darumaka up more, though.

[ And there's a smile at him. She wants to reassure him. ]

With so many of us keeping it warm, Darumaka will know that there are many people who love it and it will be that much more eager to come out and meet us, don't you think?

[ Oh no! Another one is chasing her! Zorua lets out a little yip, trying to pick up speed without stumbling. While she's gotten pretty used to her legs so far, there's still a few times where she trips and has to recover quickly.

Run, run, run! Can't let anyone catch her yet! ~~GOTTA GO FAST~~ ]

[She playfully swipes at the baby's tail when she stumbles. She doesn't want to hurt her, just tease her. She really is kind of cute...]

It's no problem.

[Eevee sniffs at Zorua, before raising a paw in return, reaching out to touch the other's and then reach in further to nuzzle. Floette lets out a little sigh and floats down onto AZ's hat, settling in.]

[N just goes quiet again. Oh he wants to believe that, and a good part of him does. It's just been so long since he's been there for a hatching... he was so afraid he had done something wrong in all the time in between the festival then. That he had messed this up some how.

He nods, leaning down a little to press the side of his face and his ear to the egg.]

[ Yip, Yip!

All she knows is how to make noises right now, so anyone who could understand Pokemon wouldn't really know what she's trying to say. That was fine. She's just having fun right now. She stumbles a bit more when she feels the swipe to her tail, but she catches her footing and continues to run.

This was fun! She likes it! ]

Eevee is so beautiful ...

[ Is it okay if she pets you, Eevee? Because she's going to try. Zorua, meanwhile, isn't sure what to make of the nuzzling, but she's not opposed to it. She bats a little at Eevee, playfully. ]

[Eevee makes tiny yipping noises at Zorua, ears flicking happily. The petting earns Hilda a moment of freezing, before she determines that pets are okay. She sniffs at Zorua's ear, nosing it in confusion. It's different!]

... I'm glad they're happy. It's been a long time since I've seen Pokemon quite this small.

[... That aren't naturally tiny, anyway.]

[ She can definitely see how worried he is, and she can definitely see why he is. Hilda can tell him over and over that Darumaka will be okay, but she knows him well enough to know he'll still worry until it's hatched. Hilda gently begins to rub the egg as much as she can while still holding a tiny Zorua in the other arm, as if trying to coax Darumaka out.

Come on, little one ... it's okay, we're here and we love you ... ]

Eevee will grow, and so will Zorua. It's amazing that they're able to do so much right out of the egg, though. It's a wonder Zorua isn't sleeping right now with how much running she did earlier.

[ Pet pet pet the Eevee ... She does stop petting once Eevee starts inspecting Zorua's ear, though. Zorua's ear twitches, and she tries to turn her head away. That ticklessss ... ]

[Nothing.

At first there's just... nothing. The silence from the egg is almost unnerving, and N, poor N, looks just about near tears at how quiet that egg is being.

He closes his eyes, lips moving in a silent plea.

Please...

And then, all at once... the egg actually jumps a little.]

Ah!

[ She felt that jump. Her hand had been on it when it jumped. Her eyes widened, and she kept her gaze on the egg, hoping there would be more signs of life there. ]

[She yips right along with the little one, before dashing ahead and flopping down on her back. Jump over her or jump on her? Or go around? The choice is yours, tiny bundle of energy!]

[Eevee noses some more, and AZ scoops her up with a big hand. ... Eevee is so small compared to him.]

Don't push her. That's rude.

[Eevee huffs in annoyance and goes to gnaw on AZ's thumb. He blinks in confusion and looks up, but Floette doesn't flutter down to offer any guidance. She's tired out from worrying.]

... That's normal, right?

[How... how does he children.]
