[ Day 337 - Closed ] ( I’m broken in the midst of this world. But you’re smiling, blind to it all. )
Who: Makoto Naegi (
bulletofhope), Ibuki Mioda (
scary_music), and Aoi Asahina (
amphibian)
Open: Closed
When: The evening of Day 337.
Where: The Apartments
What: So Ibuki, Naegi and Aoi walk into Naegi's apartment and talking about the past happens.
Format: I'll match!
Warnings: Spoilers for Dangan Ronpa and a LOT of unpleasant shit in it. THANKS MONOBEAR. DDDDDDDDDDX
[ The more Naegi stared at them, the more he wondered what he was going to do.
It had been a few weeks after the news of Crona's death had reached the Bastion, and needless to say he had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach thanks in no part to the death. Truth be told, he handled it much better than he was expecting to no thanks in part to his time in Hope's Peak, but it still didn't stop him from feeling drained at the news. Perhaps he'd never get used to death regardless what he was faced with.
Regardless, he'd found that he was comforted in some measure by the last thing he was expecting - a record of everything he'd learned about his killing game from Togami before his untimely disappearance. The remaining victims, their motives, the mastermind, Ibuki's connection to them as Super High School Level Despair as well as the events leading up to the Worst, Most Despair-Inducing Incident in the History of Mankind... it at least kept him occupied, knowing that his current situation in the Bastion was actually an improvement from that hell.
And yet... as he stared at them, the realization hit him that he and Ibuki were the only ones who truly knew the entirely of what happened. It had occurred to him that he had to tell Aoi about everything - and he was going to, eventually, but...
His continued staring led him to that current quandary. Sakura was among those who'd perished - granted, it was for noble reasons, but he still knew that Aoi was not going to take it well when she found out. Naegi had no doubt that she was much stronger than she looked, but considering how badly she took it when their classmates and friends were dropping dead around them, and with how close she was to the martial artist...
There was no easy way to tell her this, was there? At least he didn't have to worry about Togami beating her over the head with that information, but between this scenario and that one he'd rather have Togami be the one to get wrecked by her...
Sighing, he glanced over to Komaru and smiled sadly, watching her sleep for a bit before he stared at the notes again. He'd have to tell her eventually - it was her right to know. And he did tell Ibuki that they'd tell her together. But still... ]
Mmmmn... Asahina-san's not gonna like this...

Mmmmn... Asahina-san's not gonna like this...
no subject
Makoto-chan! Have you got your keyboard yet???
no subject
Ibuki-san--?!
[ Give him a moment to process that... sorry, he's somewhat out of it still. ]
. . . oh. OH. Right... I need to get that...
no subject
[Is Ibuki pouting? Yes she is pouting]
no subject
[ Naegi laughs awkwardly and scratches the back of his head, but it's clear that his mind is elsewhere... ]
no subject
Which means you're gonna end up forgetting again!
... but what is Makoto-chan thinking about, anyway?
no subject
[ Naegi looks more faraway as he gestures to the notes on his table. ]
Thinking about everything that's happened back in our world, in the wake of hearing about Crona's death. I know I shouldn't be thinking about it too much, but... I keep going back to it.
no subject
... ... um...
[Ibuki hesitated a bit at that.]
... But... that's... not important anymore, right?
[she'd like to forget about it as much as possible...]
... isn't it?
no subject
[ Naegi sighs, collapsing back into the couch. ]
Asahina-san still doesn't know anything about what happened back home. And I doubt Togami-kun told her out of the goodness of his heart before he disappeared, either...
no subject
... um...
... but... is now a good time to tell Aoi-chan about that?
[... though in her mind, she's not sure if there'd ever be a good time]
no subject
[ Considering how Asahina responded, according to Togami... yeah, he's not looking forward to it either. ]
But... she still has a right to know. The truth isn't kind or unkind, it just is.
no subject
... well... okay... but... if Aoi-chan decides to kick Ibuki or something, you better dive in the way!
no subject
[ Especially considering that ( 1 ) he kept this from her, and ( 2 ) that he was among those in their killing game whom she blamed for that whole mess... ]
no subject
[There's been entirely too much of that in her life...]
no subject
[ Yeah, they would much rather have no violence or anything of that sort...
Still, though... even though Naegi's visibly worried about this he still reaches for and grabs Ibuki's hand, squeezing it. ]
No matter what happens from this point on, though, it'll be okay, Ibuki-san... I believe that it will be.
no subject
Yeah... yeah...
Alright... Ibuki will believe in your belief, Makoto-chan.
no subject
But really, someone probably should have closed the door behind her, because on Aoi's way to her apartment to grab a volleyball she hears Asahina-san still doesn't know, if Aoi-chan decides to kick Ibuki—she's still for a moment, listening, but the conversation doesn't grow more specific and she quickly loses her patience.
And so she leans in through the side of the doorway, arms folded, frowning.]
What doesn't Asahina-san know?
no subject
[she suddenly zips around Makoto to place him between herself and Aoi]
She's come to kick our everything!!
no subject
[ WHOA IBUKI SLOW DOWN or not, okay, it looks like he's a meat shield now??? Uh.
Right, uh. Well. This is gonna be a thing now. HE FEELS SO UNPREPARED but then again, nothing in the world would prepare him for this ever, so. Uh.
Let's try not to die here, yeah? After a few deep breaths, Naegi pauses to ask Asahina the all-important question. ]
Uh... well...
Asahina-san, what's the last thing you remember happening before you ended up in the Bastion?
no subject
[Makoto's question makes her start, though, and she looks at him, wide-eyed, for just a moment before she has to glance away.]
...I'd...I'd been trying to sleep after...what happened to Oowada... [Her focus flickers to Ibuki--and away, again. Ibuki knew about Hope's Peak, knew it was awful, but they'd dropped the subject; to Aoi's knowledge, she's barely involved if she is at all.] Is now a good time?
no subject
[... Mondo Oowada... so, the swimmer was only from just after the second trial?]
... after his... execution...?
[... Ibuki froze after she said that, before looking at Makoto... come on, say something to take Aoi's attention]
no subject
[ Makoto goes silent as he takes a few moments to let Asahina's response sink in... she was from that far back?
Hoo boy. This was going to be worse than he thought. Naegi shares a look of complete accord with Ibuki, unease evident in his expression before he turns to Asahina once more and nods quietly. ]
It's as good a time as any, Asahina-san.
[ At least, he hopes it is. Whether or not it actually is is gonna depend on how this goes. ]
You're... gonna want to sit down. There's... a lot that we both need to tell you.
no subject
You both ..? [ Dubious, she folds her arms and frowns, but she finds a chair to sit in regardless and watches Makoto, her eyebrows knit together.]
no subject
... Ibuki's... not so good at this so... so you take it away, Makoto-chan??
[... they didn't need to talk about how the musician herself was involved... right???]
no subject
He just gives Ibuki another look of accord before he speaks up this time, his tone deadly serious. ]
Yeah... we both actually come from... farther along in the killing games. In particular... I actually know what happens after that.
[ He's just gonna give Asahina a few moments to let her process that before continuing. ]
no subject
[And that's all she can manage for a few moments. An objection sits at the top of her throat and she swallows it down; Makoto wouldn't lie to her. People have arrived from all sorts of places in time before, so how impossible is it that someone would arrive days later from the same world?
But she doesn't say what happened after spending so long trying to put this behind her—she doesn't leave, either, though, doesn't demand to know why he's telling her this, because maybe it should mean something, for her to know, for the sake of their friends' memories.]
...Okay.
[She folds her arms in front of her, but she leans forward, just a little, too.]
no subject
... ...
[Ibuki's just gonna sit down and... try not to look and try not to say anything, but it looks like she wants to say something stupid now...]
no subject
Good thing Naegi's too busy trying to figure out where to start with this because otherwise he'd just be laughing so hard at Ibuki right now...
Of course, right now, srs mood is srs. And could get worse, if they're not careful. Breathing in and out, he looks at Asahina seriously and nods. ]
Several more of... our friends... they died before we figured out who was responsible for the murder games in the first place.
. . . it sounds very unbelievable, but... apparently, Enoshima-san was responsible for everything.
