Okay, so! Talking to one of the prisoners got me... A lot of useful information.

A big one is this: They're seeking cores to power a device that they claim is capable of reviving the dead. Where I'm from, that's doable, if expensive, but... It can also go horribly wrong. So it's something to be cautious of.

That said, it is a basis for some negotiation... Or at least for knowledge of what's going on, from their perspective.

Megaera was simply on her way home to the Library by now, and seemed to be in a better mood than before. She'd done something that, hopefully, would be useful.

Bother her? Talk about the ethical considerations of what she did? Thank her? Something else? Your call.

Maybe it isn't so serious to them, if they think they can just undo it. But it has to be different for us.

... I'm not superbly versed in straight sciences, but... It sounds like the raw power of one core's potentially a region-breaking disaster?

That depends. We've already seen the cores here do a lot of things... but if you put two or three of them together it might be enough to cause some serious damage. And we don't know how many cores' worth of power whatever caused the Calamity took. But if one core can bring in as much land as it did... it's easier to destroy than create.

We don't want that kind of power loose.

I just hope we can make them understand where they're wrong.
