Day 316 ★ 003 ★ [Closed]
Who: Black★Rock Shooter and Ippo.
Open: [N]
When: Day 316, predawn.
Where: New Kamogawa Boxing Gym.
What: The agreed-upon bout.
Format: Action brackets, though I can try my hand at another type if you'd like.
Warnings: None that I can think of. Purple prose, maybe, but with me that's a given.
* * *
[The day had finally come.]
[Ikuri had prepared and rested as much as body and nerves would allow; in truth, it had proven quite the struggle. She'd bedded down while light was still in the sky, and slept somewhat fitfully all through the night - refusing to get up for any purpose, even in the throes of restlessness. As soon as she was sure the appropriate time was drawing close...she left her abode and entered the building Ippo'd selected, with the intention to wait there if he wasn't already present.]
[She'd be doing so with no small amount of anxiety if it came to that, of course.]
[...although now, she couldn't help but be curious about this particular match. It was an opponent she'd never had occasion to face before; she knew he was strong, but that was it. What weapons, what tactics, what conditions...]
[She hoped he would not disappoint.]

It had been a while since he'd stepped into the ring with this kind of feeling in his stomach. It was tight as a knot and he felt a fire burning in his chest as he wrapped his hands up in cloth. He could feel the familiar stinging sensation on his back, Coach Kamogawa's constant reassurance and motivation that had kept him going through so many fights he'd lost count of them. Even now, here in the Bastion, he continued to be one of Ippo's biggest pillars of support.
He looked up just as he strapped his gloves on, using his teeth expertly to tie the laces to see Ikuri enter the building and the feeling intensified 10 fold.
It was time to show his stuff.]
You look ready. You don't mind keeping this strictly hand to hand, do you?
