Open: [very much Y - hop right in.]
When: Day 307, afternoon
Where: Route A is in central Bastion, near the monument. Route B is literally anywhere within the settlement.
What: New face, new place - part deux. She's in a better frame of mind, so there won't be any hostility this time around...unless, perhaps, you happen to be someone from these events.)
Format: Action brackets, though I can try my hand at another type if you'd like. Also, multiple option setup inspired by Miki's entry. Tag the one you want - or both, if it strikes your fancy (and/or we plot something out).
Warnings: Don't know what'll happen when/if the muses she encountered in her previous post show up, but - other than that, no warnings.

(( Scenario [A] - Impact Point!! Central Bastion))



[Whatever business you may have around this part of the settlement today, and whether or not the day was normal to start with... basically, this happens. Anyone who chances to look at the sky sees her shape coming down, AND...]

[SLAM!]

[You now have a Shooterish hole in the ground. The monument is untouched; she was a safe distance from it.]

[Had she actually died, that in-game death message would have been appropriate.]




[And...after a time, she may or may not be climbing out of it. Even falling from such a height seems to have only dazed her.]

[But that's...not the same as saying that she's totally unbothered, or that the impact wasn't unpleasant. It was, and it smarts, but in the way that an annoying injury does.]

(( Scenario [B] - Exploration ))



(( BGM: The Bastion - Wonder [Temple of Elemental Evil: Hommlet] ))

[Would you believe she's actually not stirring a fuss, even after all that? There is much to see here, much that captivates her, and she has nothing against traveling all over to see and learn about it all.]

[Out in the open, at a place of business, wherever - if it exists in the Bastion, you might see her there. And by default, there won't be any aggression; she'll actually feel rather good on the whole by now. Except, of course, for the nagging detail of the people she left behind in the wild...]

[Your move, responder. Where does your meeting with her take place?]

[Well, that sure was a thing that happened.]

[The Helmsman had just been going about his usual "lay in the grass and appreciate it a lot" habit when the impact had happened, and he's a short distance away eyeing Shooter as she climbs out with clear suspicion.]

[she might...actually be taking the time, now, to swat the dust and earth off her sleeves and shorts. No, she's not particularly worried about any risk of impropriety in the latter case; mainly because she lacks a grasp of it.]

[her gaze travels 'round, slowly, taking in sights...until she notices you, and said gaze settles there.]

[After the whole debacle out on the Skyway, Alucard has been largely content to leave the new arrival be. Sure, he'd informed Paarthurnax what had happened, but otherwise? The girl hasn't caused problems yet, so he's not about to go out of his way to interfere with her.

...Although he will probably look back on this moment and kind of regret his decision to take a nap under one of the donut trees, because really, why wouldn't someone new and curious about the place they had found look at the trees full of delicious baked goods? It is a terrible place to try and stay out of someone's way while they calm down.]

[Well, here's some good news. By the time we've reached Scenario B, she's actually calmed down quite a bit. Mellow as a puppy, really. ...which should not be taken to mean, necessarily, that she'd back down from a fight if a given proponent pushed hard enough, but it does mean she's not of a mind to seek it on her own. Yet.]

[What she has seen here has been pleasing, rather than disturbing. Enough to make her wonder, in earnest, about the truth of her reality... instead of taking the great many things for granted as she had before.]

[The warrior within is not truly at rest. It could well be her doom to assume there is no danger at all. And yet... and yet... part of her wanted to believe this, wanted to embrace what she was seeing. It reminded her of that girl...]

[And that...was precious.]

[As Alucard rightly guessed, the donut trees were indeed a subject of fascination upon their discovery. In that regard they were not different from so much else that she'd already seen by this point, but - they were a myriad wonder, to be sure. Shooter knows nothing of donuts or their flavors, so...what's actually most pleasing to her right now is the colors.]

[When your world's spectrum can be seen as somewhat limited, bright and beautiful colors are themselves a spectacle. Mesmerizing.]

[But she is not so drawn to them that the person of power sleeping beneath it has escaped notice.]


[So she approaches.]

[But once there...she merely stands. Watches him sleep.]

[Moves closer. Kneels down, next to him...]

[A curious sight on the whole, but she finds herself most drawn to his hair. Its luster...]

[...carefully. tentatively. she reaches for him...stopping movement at certain points, briefly, but never withdrawing.]

[Her gloved fingers...thread themselves into his hair with a gentleness that some may find surprising. Indeed, it's not just about the threat level...she recognizes that he is at rest, and there is no desire to rouse him. More than that, though, she is curious: has never seen hair of this sort before, doesn't recall ever having occasion to feel hair, even back in her own home. Touching her own, long as it was, had never occurred to her.]

[If you allow it, she'll be like this for a short while - kneading, twining, feeling...but carefully.]

[That awkward moment when neither party is willing or able to talk.]

[So the Helmsman settles for the most emotive expression of "what the fuck" that he can muster up, even as he gestures to the crater. A sharp eye will notice that he's not really moving properly- instead guided by a thin layer of red-blue energy that covers nearly his entire body.]

[He's still not got that 'moving on his own' thing down yet.]

[Your apparent displeasure isn't putting her at ease; ironically, that's almost entirely because she's misreading the sentiment.]

[Is this a debt? Are you demanding contest for an affront to your domain - is that what this is?]

[The soothing effect is already working within her - she is not particularly eager to fight - but if it is made clear that this's a direct challenge...]


[Perhaps fortunately, her own expression is emotive enough to make her feelings clear. At once, it's "Is this a challenge, are you asking for a challenge" and "I don't want to. >=|"]

[Being glared at just makes him scrunch his nose up right back and he goes for the good old standard of forming energy in the air as a bunch of question marks.]

[Is that clearer? Or, god help him, is he going to have to find someone to translate for this hot mess.]

[The slight tensing of her body indicated anticipation of an attack, but ...]

despite appearances, this is innocent. she's not consciously trolling.

[Oh, wait- okay he thinks he gets it. Rubbing at his face, he grits out a sigh before making a small walking gesture with his fingers.]

[Most people seem to be fans of walking here. Instead of. You know. Craters.]

[Finding her wasn't hard. He's got her signature, he can track her anywhere she may go...]

[That said, she's in the middle of the Bastion, and she's not being hostile at the moment. Right now, causing a fight to break out would be both counter-productive and foolish.]

[So here he is, some distance away, just watching her. Intensely.]

[It was too great a distance. Quick movement was needed.]

[...that would place her close to the Monument. She may not be directly in front of the structure, but that's hardly necessary to looking upon it. (And if we go with the assumption that the impact hole from Route A wasn't filled by this point - well, there it is. Even in that case, she would be paying it little mind.)]

[It's curious, of course, but she makes no move to approach it.]

[And then she turns about, picking a direction away from the Monument to travel in - barely taking two steps before abruptly jerking back, a sound of surprise following.]

[... a threat is nearby. she's being observed.]

[Naturally, her face takes on a very different look - tense and alert - as she begins to look around her, trying to find the source of the instinct trigger.]

[Are you in plain sight?]

[He's got nothing to hide from here. He's just leaning against a conveniently placed wall belonging to the onsen. Still just watching her.]

[And yes... he's hunting.]
