Day 288
Who: The Helmsman and you
Open: Open
When: Day 288
Where: By the entrance to the Skyway
What: The Helmsman ventures out and comes back with some shinies he's heard so much about.
Format: Any
Warnings: The usual difficulties that come with chatting it up with him
Regardless of the tension that's flared up because of recent discussions, it seems as though the Helmsman's schedule hasn't changed particularly greatly. Today, just like every other day, he ventures outwards from the Tower. Unlike every other day, however, he doesn't venture off onto Dragonfield or wander about the Bastion or lay face down on the grass. Instead, when he shows up again, it's from the direction of the Skyway and a bruise blossoming on one side of his face.
And then he lays down on the grass where anyone could step on him.
At least it's not just laying, this time. Sparks of red and blue lift up tiny little shards for him to inspect curiously. For anyone in the area, he's not hard to miss.

Don't worry, Psii, she stops before she can step on you, and kneels down close. "Mister Psiionic?"
If he's half asleep or busy, she'd rather not disrupt him, but then again that bruise looks awfully bad, oh wow...and are those shards he's playing with? Gah, Jane, hold back the questions, you're on a mission!

"You went on an adventure today, huh?"
no subject
After a moment, however, he levitates up one of the shards for her to see.
no subject
"Ooh! So you got some! That's wonderful!"
Where is that - ahah, there, her hands grasp what she's got in the basket. "Would you like to add something else to your spoils today?"
no subject
Going out onto the Skyway and then going back to the hive to lay facedown on the bed for a while was really all he was expecting of the day. Adding something else to the mix... Well, he won't argue that he's intrigued.
no subject
"I tried to candy them, but I let them cook for too long and they turned into marmalade, but I can assure you that there's oodles of oranges in here."
She knows. She helped make the batch, and she places the jar gently down on the grass by Psii.

Immediately he seems to perk up, actually seeming to get energetic instead of the usual lethargic nature he seemed to carry with him most days. Immediately there's the buzz of psionics to remove the top, and he doesn't even pretend to be neat as he scoops some up to stick in his mouth.
Good job, Jane, you won the favor. Even though he knows she can't understand it, his psi spells out the thanks in Alternian anyway.
no subject
"Hoo hoo hoo! You're quite welcome! I have a couple more in here for you to take home, too." Though judging by his excitement, they might not even make it back to his apartment. "I'm sorry to say I can't let you have the basket itself - it's not mine, I've got to return it - but a couple jars shouldn't be difficult for you to carry, unless you'd like some help?"
no subject
Still, at least he looks happy so far. At her mention of things not being hers, he gives a curious tilt of his head and points at the basket. What's the deal with that, anyway?
no subject
"I just thought it made for nice presentation."
There's no way she's admitting that, in her enthusiasm, she kind of...forgot she could just pop them in the sylladex. Hey, she's allowed to have a scatterbrained moment once in a while.

Psi forms again, in the usual map plus question mark gesture that Jane might be familiar with. Where's she off to now then?
no subject
Jane shrugs. "Probably back to the cannery, but I need a little break anyway. What about you? Back to the Tower?"
no subject
The psi shifts again to form a familiar cat-horned troll, holding all the oranges away from a very sad Psii-shaped stick figure. If he goes back, Disciple might add the marmalade to her cruel reign of 'keeping him from getting sick off of oranges'.
no subject
How sad. That's not very fair, is it? Especially when he eats them so frequently. The only thing worse than eating poorly (and, admittedly, an orange-only diet is sort of poor) is not eating at all, and Jane doesn't know what else Psii eats.
no subject
After a moment, however, an idea seems to ping, and he gives Jane a sidelong glance as a new stick figure enters the scene. Judging by the circles around its eyes, clearly it's meant to be indicative of Jane. Speech bubbles happen, and Disciple gives all the oranges to him.
Translation: clearly Jane should do some bargaining here.
no subject
"You want me to see if I can convince her to give you more oranges?" She hums, her brows furrowing. "I can certainly try, if you insist..."
no subject
Maybe if someone else talks to Disciple, she'll see sense. Maybe.
no subject
"So when should I talk to her? Soon, I assume?"
no subject
no subject
"Would you like me to leave you here for a bit? Or are you coming to help plead your case?"
no subject
Probably not, but it can't hurt to try.
no subject
"Then we should head over...now?"
Does he still want to sprawl out on the grass? If he does, that's perfectly alright.
