Day 213, A New Hope (Open to All)
Who: Colin, and anyone else interested in watching Star Wars
Open: Open
When: Day 213, After Dark
Where: Out at the Dragon Field
What: Colin wants to get movie nights started, so he's picking a natural first choice
Format: Make your choice
Warnings: Star Wars, Colin (Though he'll be staying out of the way.)
For the past several days, Colin has been busily at work in his shop, preparing... something. Well, that something has been completed. It's a projection screen large enough for a good sized audience, and some mountings for sound equipment. He's already conferred with Anna to borrow her projector for this, and he's been working in secret out at the Dragonfield all day, keeping quiet about his plans. Though, anyone with half a clue what a movie screen looks like could probably figure it out.
After the sun goes down, the Bastion will be greeted with some booming sound and music from out on the Dragonfield. A familiar little jaunt for anyone who's ever been to a movie theater before...
"Let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby, and get ourselves a snack."
It seems Colin wanted to get things started in campy style. He checked with Rin earlier, a necessity for this to actually work, and there will be snacks available for anyone who asks.
Once the snack bar advertisement has played and gotten peoples' attention, several movie trailers begin to play, one after another. Some may be familiar to people, some will be completely alien. But Colin's planned this so people can have a wide variety of choices as to what they want to see later, if this actually catches on.
So... who wants to see Star Wars on the big screen?
(OOC: Oh, and since I forgot to mention it, Colin will be reading aloud the scrolling text, since he knows not everyone can read it.)

What's going on in here?

It's not just the sounds. There are these images moving on a screen.
[She watches for a moment longer as they move on to something else which claims to be either an adventure story or a kissing book? but seems entirely too short for either.]
I've seen some bad plays, but at least most of them made sense.

[She thinks for a second.]
I guess it's like the difference between your sandbending and Sokka's... blob monster.

[She's assuming this is technology and not magic, but then you never really can be sure here.
The screen goes dark for a moment and then some foreign writing shows up. Someone closer and who can actually understand it might be reading out: "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."]
Wait. I think something different is starting.

going to be bored, she might as well be bored with a friend.]

Okay, she should probably try to describe this. The intro said something about spaceships, that must be what's going on.]
Uh... There's this huge spaceship firing on a smaller one.
Inside there's a metal man, he's talking to a... cylinder with legs. [Why? Maybe it's like a metal pet?]

I think they're being boarded now.

...but I hope the whole story's not about metal things.

[Ah, this must be the villain.]
A man all in black just showed up. Either it's a mask or he's metal, too. [She thinks it's a mask, but might as well humor Toph.]

At least there's no "tearbending."

I don't know what you're talking about. That was a great story.

[Toph also didn't explicitly die in that play.]

Yeeeah. My part was the best, wasn't it? [She's so pleased with it, even now.]
no subject
You think that about real life, too, don't you?

[If someone had a better lot in life than Toph, she'd probably figure out how to fix that.]
