Day 197 | Prose [open] End of the World Time?
Who: Nagisa and you!
Open: Open for the most part except for one little bit
When: Day 197
Where: Couple different spots around Bastion
What: Nagisa is exploring at taking notes
Format: Starting with prose but if you want to do brackets I'll match styles!
Warnings: None yet
[On the Skyway / This part ONLY locked to Nanaki ]
He was dreaming. That had to be it. There was NO way that all these floating islands could be a thing that actually existed, right?
At least that's what Nagisa told himself... even as he walked past what looked like statues of the other students of Class E. He tried not to look at those. They made him feel uneasy.
His training in free running helped him out maneuver the islands as he made his way towards what looked like some sort of city.. because there wasn't much else to head towards. Along his way he happened to noticed a girl. Suspicious he tried to keep himself hidden for a bit and watched her. He wasn't armed and he didn't want to get himself tangled up with someone dangerous. But after a minute or two observing her he decided he'd probably be safe enough. She looked normal enough. No weird tentacles or suspicious hood obscuring her features.
But he still approached quietly and cautiously.
"Hello?" he finally spoke, wondering if she heard him come up behind her, "Do you live around here?"
[Tower Apartments]
When in an unknown and potentially hostile place the first thing one should do was get an idea of one's surroundings. This was an assassin survival lesson direct fro Karasuma-sensei. And the best way to do that was to climb to the highest available part of the terrain and make an initial sweep of the area. Identify ambush points and where snipers could be positions and such. And the tallest building around was what looked like a big apartment complex.
So that's where he was going to climb. Literally. He figured he'd probably look a little too suspicious if he walked in and took the stairs, and it'd just be quicker to scale the building anyways. He checked around to make sure no one was there and just... went for it. During assassin training he'd been forced to climb far more difficult things then a building, so it wasn't too hard. Using window sills and frames and balconies as well as near invisible hairline cracks in the wall he climbed. Of course it wasn't until he was between the second and third floor that it occurred to him that even though he was climbing the side and not the front and there wasn't anyone around when he started... didn't mean that there wouldn't ever be anyone just... passing by.
[At a Donut Tree]
Once Nagisa finally managed to actually get his view from the top of the Tower Apartments he caught sight of something... odd. Something even stranger then the floating islands. A tree with VERY weird fruit. His first thought was that they looked like... but no. No that COULDN'T be. He needed a closer look. However once he got closer he realized that his initial suspicion seemed to be, in fact, correct. This was a fruit tree. 'Fruit' being a loose definition at best.
He reached up and picked a donut. It had pink icing. He took a bite and just looked so incredibly confused. That befuddlement just seemed to increase by the second as he just stood there by the tree nibbling his donut. It hadn't even been placed there! He picked it. Like it was an apple. Like it had GROWN there. Did the donuts start out as donut holes? Were the seeds of donut trees sprinkles?
Of all the weird things he'd encountered so far in this place THIS was the one that just broke him.
[ At the Monument ]
Eventually Nagisa collected himself after his... donut tree encounter. There was another place he wanted to check out. That odd monument in the middle of Bastion looked... odd, IMPORTANT somehow. So he headed there next.
He had his notebook out and flipped to a blank page and drew a rough diagram of it, and jotted a couple notes down. After a few minutes he noticed someone walking by and flagged them over.
"Excuse me! I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about this thing?

Tower
It seems to 'look' at Nagisa as he clears the top (does it even have eyes?), and though its stance doesn't seem particularly aggressive, it very obviously has two good swords it could use on him.

Well Nagisa certainly didn't expect anyone else up here. But that was okay... right? After all if he was doing something suspicious being up here this guy definitely was pretty suspicious too. He looked a touch... off though, and the outfit reminded him too much of that weird suspicious Shiro guy back from his world.
He just had to play it cool and everything would be juuust fine. Yeah. If worse came to worse... well he wasn't ARMED but maybe he could try and nab one of those swords? Solid plan, totally.
"You had the same idea too huh?" he spoke lightly, smiling a bit, assassin training kicking in. Even in dangerous situations, act normally, without suspicion, as easily as if you were walking to school, "This place has a nice view. Not there seems to be all that much to look at."

It isn't quite buying the human's nonchalant act, though. Silently, it points to the door into the stairwell with one clawed hand. It doesn't need to use it, but it understands that most people prefer, you know, walking up stairs to scaling buildings.

...Oh.
A valid question. Might as well go with the truth. Somewhat at least. He learned in class too that the best stories were the truth.
"Have you ever heard of free running and parkour? I learned the basics recently and was practicing," he explained, "The fundamentals of both is that the fastest way from point A to point B is a strait line no matter what obstacles are in the way. Since this roof was my goal I'd be breaking the rules if I used the stairs."
Which WAS in fact mostly correct. He didn't add in that he wanted to do it without being noticed so he could scout for useful observations without having questions asked.

It then 'looks' across to the opposite side of the building from where Nagisa climbed up. Is he going to climb down again the same way?
no subject
Not that he particularly wanted to leave, especially with the whole 'going down' bit being considerably more scary then going up and he wanted to avoid that bit for a little while at least.
"Like I said, it looked like there was a nice view from up here," he smiled and strolled towards the edge of the building's front, "A place with a view is always a nice place to kick back and relax."
no subject
It shakes its head again slowly at the question; the stranger isn't bothering it. At least, it doesn't think so. This is not a question it is generally asked.
Relaxing with a nice view is something its master seems to appreciate, though it's still lost on the Samurai. Still, even if the human is lying, it puts the Samurai slightly more at ease with him. Not that anyone would notice, since it continues to stand like a soldier at the ready.
