Day 197 | Closed/Open
Who: Ryu (4), Ryu (3), Paarthurnax, and then open.
Open: Closed first thread, but open for people to yell at him as he recovers later.
When: Day 197
Where: Near the entrance to the Skyway; later the hospital.
What: Ryu… is not the smartest of dragons. Through a combination of monster attacks and just being plain clumsy he's managed to injure himself fairly badly.
Format: Doesn't really matter to me.Tooooo meeeeee~.
Warnings: Gross medical things, broken bone.
[The Skyway is dangerous. They've all established that multiple times, through injuries and - well. Night. It's safer to go out in a group, but as long as he isn't planning on going somewhere dangerous it should be okay, right? … Unfortunately, things don't work out that way all the time, and they haven't now. On his way back from the standing stones, the ruins that still call to him, Ryu had encountered a few monsters. Normally, this isn't a problem, but he quickly starts becoming overrun. There's too many out right now, and he makes a dash for safety - only to dash right off the Skyway. His eyes widen and he flails for the edge, but the winds of the Skyway lift him back up, up, up - and down to the ground, scattering the monsters and leaving Ryu dazed. His arm hurts, in a way that surprises him with its ferocity. He stands and stumbles back to the Bastion slowly.]
[When he does manage to reach the Bastion again, he lands in a heap, cradling his arm. As long as he holds it in this position it doesn't hurt quite as much, but he's still only vaguely aware of his surroundings at the moment.]

~some time later~
[Some company might be nice, though.]

Not that that makes her any good at visits like these. What would her uncle do? Maybe she should have brought him tea?]
...hey.
['Hello' is always a good place to start a conversation?]

... Hi.

[She motions for him to lie back down.]
I just wanted to see how you were doing.
no subject
I'll be okay, I think. I landed on it badly.
no subject
I guess this is something that healing magic can't fix.
[She isn't really sure of the limits of it, though.]

...though, I've never had a broken bone. [So it's not like she says that so adamantly thanks to personal experience.]

Must've been a really short cliff.

Well, hard head or not, you're obviously not invincible.

You should try to be more careful.

Hey there.
Heard you hit a spot of trouble, and it hit back.
no subject
Yeah. I fell off and I landed badly when the wind caught me.
no subject
Just means you'll watch your step more in the future, huh?
You lived. You'll be more careful. That's experience for you.
no subject
Yeah. I didn't mean to worry anyone.

[Colin grins down at him slightly, before reaching out to grab a chair and sit beside his bed.]

[He shakes his head. There's no good excuse.]
The thing from my home that showed up... at least, I'm pretty sure it's from my home. I can always feel it pulling me. I don't know why. I feel better when I go there... I think it might be where I was first summoned.
I just... it feels right to be there.
no subject
What is it, anyway? It sounds rather important to you.

The... the place I found... it's two stone platforms. There's a bridge between them, and an archway. There's symbols written there that I can't read. But... but it helps. I could sense Fou-Lu in my world, but I can't feel him here. It feels so empty. It's like... it's like...
[He looks down at his arm in the splint.]
It's like if an arm or something was suddenly gone. Not torn off, just... stopped existing. It feels wrong. Incomplete. It didn't feel complete before, but now I can't sense him at all and... and...
[He's not good at talking for a long time, or about getting his point across. He lifts his good hand to his face, scrubbing at his eyes.]
He's not supposed to have been able to be killed. He can't be gone. The rest of them can't be gone... they're gods. Gods aren't supposed to be gone like that. Even if... even if he and I are incomplete, I survived and... and he didn't. But he slept for hundreds of years and woke up. He's the stronger half. If anything I should have...
[He can't talk anymore. His throat feels like it's closing up, choking on tears. He lets out a pained sob, wrapping his arm around himself.]
no subject
Hey, Ryu... Take this.
[He puts the handkerchief in Ryu's good hand. Then he stands up, and he moves to sit on the bed on the side of Ryu's good arm. Then, he simply leans over and hugs his friend.]
Armageddon doesn't care. And no, it's not fair. Not in the slightest. Gods can die, just as easily as mortals. And it. Is not. Fair.
But you're here. And that's important. Because it means Fou Lu and Nina aren't gone. Not completely.
[He puts his palm against Ryu's chest, over his heart.]

I just... it hurts. It feels wrong. I don't... know exactly what to do. But... but I'll do what I can to help people. That's all we can do.
